Summary
Life coaches and small group leaders often talk with people who feel stuck in their journeys with Jesus and do not know how to break through into God’s best for them, their relationships, or their work. A clear and psychologically sound model of the stages of faith is a needed assessment and coaching tool for helping people get unstuck in their emotional-relational development and spiritual formation. This workshop presents the CHRIST stages of faith with guidance for the journey, including how to get through The Wall in the middle. They are called CHRIST stages because the Lord Jesus is our Way Maker who went through the stages and enabled our growth in grace to become more like Him. The stages are Confidence in Christ, Help in Discipleship, Responsibilities in Ministry, Inner Journey, Spirit-led Ministry, and Transforming Union. This model is drawn from the Bible, psychological research, and ancient spiritual writers and has been field-tested for more than a decade of counseling and ministry. Progressing in this journey of increasing intimacy with God and Christlikeness requires caring for the specific developmental need at each stage. Particular soul care practices and coaching techniques are recommended for each CHRIST stage and getting through The Wall.

Learning Objectives
Participants will:
• Identify the key questions to ask spiritual seekers to assess their current CHRIST stage and engage them in an intentional process of coaching or learning
• Demonstrate empathy techniques to help coaching clients and other followers of Jesus to name the roadblock and grace for each of the CHRIST stages of faith
• Apply practical steps applicable to coaching clients or church attenders in each of the CHRIST stages and The Wall, which can be incorporated into a plan for personal and spiritual growth
