Infidelity bears a devastating blow to people who have been sexually betrayed. It impacts every area of their lives: safety, relational trust, confidence, and self-image. In this presentation, we will examine how betrayal affects the brain, body, mind, spirit, and sexuality, as well as empowering new tools for intervention, protections from manipulation and abuse, and freedom from shame.
- Identify a multi-layered trauma model to show the complexity of betrayal trauma
- Identify risk factors of untreated trauma to the brain, body, and mind, including treatment options
- Recognize the impact of betrayal-induced shame beliefs and tools aimed at restoring truth
