Kathie T. Erwin, Ed.D., LMHC, NCC, NCGC, is Associate Professor in the School of Psychology and Counseling at Regent University and Director of the Global Trauma Education Center in the Tampa Bay area. As a Certified Field Traumatologist, Dr. Erwin has led international trauma teams with Green Cross Academy of Traumatology and the Ukraine Project. She is the author of six academic books and serves as Secretary of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association. Dr. Erwin was awarded a Fulbright Specialist Grant to work at the University of Iceland in the fall of 2018.
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is commonly associated with domestic violence, sexual assault, and military combat. This Webinar explores the “underrepresented traumas,” such as medical, caregiving, neglect, disability, witness to violence, and experiencing natural disasters, and how they can shake the family system and leave other mental health crises in its wake.
