A crisis pregnancy happens.
She’s typically somewhere between the ages of 16-24. Alone and scared. Confused. And she’ll make one of the most difficult and important decisions of her life—to keep the baby or abort?
Most of the time, she’ll decide within a 24-hour window. Rarely does she have someone to talk to… someone to confide in… someone who will listen, understand and help her through it all.
More than 1.2 million abortions are performed every year in this country (22% of all pregnancies), and the United States allows abortion-on-demand for any reason (only China and Canada also fall into this category). A stunning 10% of women have an abortion by age 20 and the number jumps to 25% by age 30.
The reality is that we live in a highly sexualized culture where sex outside of marriage in no longer viewed as a serious moral issue. For those who become pregnant and choose to abort, the emotional, physical and spiritual pain can linger for a lifetime. And, tragically, adolescent and unwed mothers face increased risks for domestic violence, depression, unemployment, and a life of poverty. Much is being done to help, but there is so much more needed.
Our Mission: To empower an army of coaches and counselors on behalf of the unborn and those wrestling with whether to choose life or abort.
A Strategic Partnership: The prestigious American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) has teamed up with Care Net—the largest pregnancy center network in North America—to produce and deliver what we believe is now the foremost training of its kind in crisis pregnancy coaching and counseling.
The Curriculum: Crisis Pregnancy Coach and Counselor Training Programs 101 and 201 include 24 targeted presentations that provide all the necessary content to help equip you for effective ministry and professional care. Some of the nation’s leading experts will be your instructors.
If you feel called by God to make a difference in the lives of others around you, let us help equip and train you through this new course.
When you successfully finish this program (more than 200,000 students have enrolled in a Light University course), you will earn a Certificate of Completion.
Continuing Education credits are also available, if needed, for mental health professionals.
