Dear Colleague:

I am pleased to announce a brand-new professional and personal development course, Christian Counseling 2.0, with one of the most respected and trusted Christian clinicians, pastors and counseling professors in the world, Dr. Siang-Yang Tan. These three, one-hour presentations are a must for every counselor, pastor, lay leader and caregiver.

What Makes Your Counseling Christian?

If you’re like me, you are constantly looking for resources to help you better understand and serve those you counsel, especially those who assist in reaching out with God’s love and care.

Christian Counseling 2.0 offers contemporary insights, thoughts and trends on Christian counseling that are biblically-based, clinically-excellent and theologically-sound. This new, three-hour study program is a DVD-based training platform tailored just for you—the Christian Counselor.

Three, one-hour presentations include:
CC20 101: Christian Theology in Christian Counseling: A Biblical Perspective on Human Nature, Effective Counseling and Psychotherapy

Presented by Siang-Yang Tan, Ph.D.

The integration of Christian faith in psychology and counseling is relevant within the mental health field. As Christian practitioners, it is important to counsel others through the power of the Holy Spirit for effective psychotherapy and change to take place. This session addresses various approaches to the integration of Christian faith into the counseling process.

CC20 102: Christian Faith in Clinical Practice: Implicit and Explicit Integration

Presented by Siang-Yang Tan, Ph.D.

Christian faith can manifest itself implicitly or explicitly within clinical and caregiving settings. When assimilating faith and practice, intentional and prayerful integration is a key component. This session addresses how God guides the Christian counselor in practical and meaningful counseling through a biblical and faith-based approach.

CC20 103: The Holy Spirit and Christian Spirituality in Counseling and Psychotherapy

Presented by Siang-Yang Tan, Ph.D.

One cannot provide Christian counseling if the power and presence of the Holy Spirit is not intimately known and incorporated. There are three major areas of the Spirit’s ministry and work within the context of Christian caregiving and psychotherapy: the Spirit’s power and gifts, the Spirit’s truth, and the Spirit’s fruit. This session explores the critical importance of the Holy Spirit in working with the hurting and broken.

When you successfully finish this program (more than 200,000 students have enrolled in a Light University course), you will earn a Certificate of Completion.

Continuing Education credits are also available, if needed, for mental health professionals.

Sincerely,

Timothy E. Clinton, Ed.D., LPC, LMFT
President, AACC
