We are very excited about our upcoming conference in the Chicago area on September 18-20, 2008. It is centered around the theme, “Interpreting People and Texts,” and will examine the role of interpretation in everything we do: counseling people, reading the Bible for psychology and counseling, reading secular psychology books, and studying human beings in research. In addition, we will look at how all of these interpretive activities are supposed to influence each other in a Christian way.
The conference will feature perhaps the foremost theologian of our day, Kevin Vanhoozer; and Leslie Vernick, a widely published counselor; Tremper Longman III, an Old Testament expert who has collaborated with Dan Allender on many counseling books; the Christian philosopher/psychologist, Robert Roberts; and many other counselors and psychologists. Christian songwriter and storyteller, Michael Kelly Blanchard will also give an interactive concert, which will be tied to our conference theme.
We trust the conference will be a time for us to fellowship with God and with one another. We are praying that it will be a very special conference.
