Conferences » Professional Intensive Trainings

Welcome to the AACC 2008 certificate training events coming this fall in two separate locations. I want to personally invite you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to enhance your professional skills, earn needed CE’s, acquire valuable certifications, and enjoy some great interaction with your fellow colleagues.

For the first time, we are packaging together a number of premier, certificate-based trainings to help maximize your effectiveness,
while also being sensitive to your busy schedule. I’m excited about our line-up and the top-notch trainers and presenters who will be joining us. We have structured the training in such a way that you can earn not one, but two different certificates at the same event.

Register now as we expect our available slots to fill up quickly. Here’s what’s coming:

Christian Crisis Response Training – Based on the work of Dr. Jeffrey Mitchell, the CISM Model is known as the best crisis response training in the country. Thousands of counselors, pastors, police officers, emergency and healthcare workers use this skillsbased training every day in their work. There are now 10 different Crisis Response trainings to choose from. Nearly 10,000 AACC members have gone through this training in a desire to “be there” for people in crisis as God’s ambassadors of consolation, comfort, and encouragement.

Sexual Addiction Training – Our culture is flooded with sexual content, images, and messages. Sexual addiction is pandemic and we need to become actively aware of the issues, challenges, and effective treatment strategies that provide a healing path for those caught in this all-consuming web. Dr. Mark Laaser is a nationally recognized expert in the area of sexual addiction and a highly sought-after speaker. As an added bonus, this training can help lead toward certification as a Christian Sex Addiction Specialist.

Mediation Training – Learn mediation and peacekeeping principles from a Christian perspective. We will be offering both Professional Mediation, which is a 40-hour intensive certificate program (20 hours on DVD and 20 hours at the live event), as well as Family Mediation, a 20-hour face-to-face interactive program. These certificates will give you access to most court-based mediation programs in the United States. Why not consider adding this adjunct specialty practice to your counseling and ministry care?

Emotionally Focused Therapy Training – Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy is currently sweeping the marriage and family counseling field as one of the most empirically validated and proven treatment modalities available. Dr. Sharon Hart May will expertly guide you through the principles and techniques of this helpful model that is based on attachment theory. It’s practical; it’s clinically focused; and it will enable you to work more effectively with distressed couples.

Our desire is to equip, encourage, and empower you make a difference in your church and community. We love being a part of your life!

Blessings,

Dr. Tim Clinton
